Frequently asked questions

The visit lasts an average of 1.5 hours

You can use E Connect ANCV vouchers to pay online. Paper vouchers can only be used in person at the ticket office.

Yes, dogs are welcome at the chateau. Outside, they must be kept on a lead. Inside the museum and chateau, they must be carried in a bag. If you cannot carry your dog, we suggest that you enjoy your visit inside while your furry friend remains outside, supervised by someone else. Once the visit is over, you can resume looking after your favourite fur-ball.

Pushchairs are allowed on site. However, to preserve the chateau’s historic wooden floors, we ask you to leave them in the entrance hall before exploring inside. So don’t forget to bring a baby carrier!

There are parking spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility near reception. Wheelchairs are permitted, but we do not offer wheelchair hire. 80% of the route is on the same level. There are a few steps to access the first floor and cellar. The castle is around 150 metres from reception and there are benches all along the route to take a break if you need to.

Free, shaded parking is available close to the site. It is accessible during opening hours and closes a few minutes after closing time. Overnight parking is not permitted.

Parking is permitted in the interior car park during opening hours. To spend the night, you can park in the bus park outside, which offers a splendid view over the Dordogne Valley.

If you’re up for the challenge and have strong calves, you can come by bike, although the climb will be pretty intense! You can fill your water bottle in the restrooms. Before you leave, try our grape juice for a vitamin boost!

The tasting is an integral part of the visit, but don’t worry, you’ll be able to enjoy our delicious, 100% natural grape juice. It’s an excellent way to enjoy the fruit of our harvest without imbibing alcohol.

If you don’t choose the same tour route, there’s no guarantee that you’ll do the tasting together. Depending on the number of visitors, you may be separated for this part, but that means you can enjoy meeting up afterwards and sharing your experience!

Yes. Don’t forget to tag Château de Monbazillac on social media – we’ll be delighted to give you a “like” and share the best shots!

Drones are strictly forbidden in and around the chateau, as it is located in a restricted zone. If you would like to take drone shots, please contact us. If you do not have authorisation, you risk prosecution and fines. PS: the bus park next to the site is part of the chateau grounds.
